Why Quads are faster...

Ever wondered why quads seem to be a little faster than thrusters? Bob explains in this one page snapshot the hydrodynamics of what is happening under your board....

  1. By the way the premise i.e "quads are faster" has not been shown to be the case. If you want to claim that a board is faster measure the speed or you are just blowarsing. When you can get 37mph on a head high crumbling wave then you'll be up with the play . . . we did !

    Its really a point about the "flow" feel you get without a back fin, rather than the "thrust push work" feel you have on a 3 fin setup.
